About us
We were set up in 2005 by Vicki Shotbolt with a simple philosophy: to help organisations to deliver good services to parents.
As a company we practice what we preach. We don’t do offices and we positively encourage flexible working hours.
Everyone that works with us shares a belief that parents are the real experts. Our job is to help service providers to meet their needs by listening to parents and making sure that their views are heard and understood.
It is our ability to engage parents and encourage them to speak up and be open about the services they receive or the products they use that makes us unique.
Vicki Shotbolt
Before setting up Parent Focus, Vicki was the deputy chief executive at the National Family and Parenting Institute with responsibility for their parent communication strategy. Vicki worked for the Children’s Society and has over 15 years experience in the children and parent’s charity sector. Her interest remains helping parents and their children to receive the best and most appropriate services that are available.
Julie Campbell
Julie has worked with Parent Focus for three years and is a key member of the team. An experienced project manager, she conducts mapping exercises which provide the vital background work to any of our projects. She is also the first point of contact for parents, parent-led organisations and the third sector.
Liz Bailey
Having worked in local authority children’s services for over 18 years, Liz Bailey has experience of working on parenting issues at a strategic and operational level. Liz has worked on the development of parenting strategies and as an operational manager has been responsible for commissioning, developing and managing services supporting vulnerable children and their families. She has a particular interest in and experience of policy and service development for disabled children and their families, including more recently the Aiming High for Disabled Children programme.
